Hi, there! My name is Rita S., I am a native speaker of Portuguese originally from Brazil. I have more than 15 years of experience teaching Portuguese language and culture to professional adults on some of the leading international institutions in the D.C. area, from beginner through advanced proficiency levels.
I am happy to tailor my lessons to meet my student’s needs and style. I have a lot of experience as an online instructor, using Skype, Webex, and FaceTime to deliver lessons to remote students who are unable to attend classes in person.
I am a great advocate of good pronunciation, no matter what is your native language. And if you are a Spanish speaker, I can help you to overcome the specific challenges that Spanish speakers face when learning Portuguese.
Culture provides the environment in which languages develop, so culture is an essential part of my lessons, including Brazilian music and history.
