I love working with young students, to get them started on the path to becoming Musical People. Whether I’m teaching them to play one specific instrument, helping them develop their singing voices, or leading them through a performance-based curriculum based upon The National Standards of Music Education, my goal is to give each student the ability to become independently musical. I have Bachelor and Master degrees in Music Performance and Pedagogy (Voice), a Master Certificate from the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (music education), and a career that includes teaching full-time and performing in professional venues. I am a Mezzo-Soprano (Early Music and Baroque Performance Practice), and I have also freelanced throughout my career on Cello, Recorder, Bass Viola da gamba, and Native American-style Flute. I also teach beginning piano. My goal is to reach children who are not in a school where they can take music lessons, and to offer private lessons and group zoom lessons to help them reach their full potential as musicians for life.
