I've hired a couple tutors from this website, but it seemed like they couldn't explain the material well or were not familiar with topics at all. Fred is an actual teacher who is not only familiar with topics, but is able to explain it in a simple way, so my son was able to improve his grades. I would highly recommend Fred as a tutor. The only drawback is you would have to drive to him to have a session, which could be quite time-consuming. But he offers online session that can be a solution for those who don't need face-to-face interaction.

Fred was very patient and worked out a system that would help my son to retain as much as possible due to his ADHD. He knows how to break difficult subjects down so that they are more understandable. My daughter was having trouble with using trigonometric identities to solve equations on restricted domains. She also needed help proving given trigonometric identities using known sum, difference, double-angle, and Pythagorean identities. This is important because not all tutors have been familiar with these concepts, and we wasted critical time. Fred really knows his subject and he is able to communicate it VERY well to those needing help. Fred is very accommodating. We live far away from him, so he tutors my daughter online and has all the technological tools to make it easy. From working with Fred in only a few sessions, my daughter has really improved her understanding of Algebra 3-4 and she feels much more confident about that knowledge. Fred is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend him as a tutor!

He welcomes me into his home and offers a quick beverage while we get ready for the session. Then he asks what you would like to work on for that day and he will already have prior proficient knowledge. So there is little to no way that he will not already know the concept in depth. His patience with me is remarkable and he adapts quickly to my pace of learning a specific concept. He will even squeeze in a little extra time to make sure that your tutoring goal for the day is met. My only complaint is that unless you live nearby him, he will charge for driving to you if you live closer to the Phoenix metropolitan area. Getting to him (at least in my case) can be difficult because there is only one road that can take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes to get to his home. With that aside he is overall a fantastic tutor, five out of five stars.
