Her guidance and knowledge not to mention her calm personality is a plus to anyone who needs a math tutor. They work well on homework assignments when our daughter is stuck on a problem, strategies for test taking and test prep. Unfortunately Jodi is moving to California in June so we will miss her tutoring our daughter. I had seen a few other tutors previously before I tutored with her and while other tutors may be smart, they didn't help me really understand what I was doing and why. Within one session with Jodi she made me truly understand the content of the questions I had asked the other tutors. While working through problems, she makes you work just as hard as she's working. She'll ask you questions about what would your next step be, your answer, and then she'll give you clarification for why that's a common mistake, or why that is the correct step. Jodi also goes beyond what most tutors would, and she gave me access to more study materials (GRE tests, study problems that were my weak points, ETS PDF workbooks) outside of the tutor session. If you give her a list of some difficult problems, she'll work through them on her own time so when it comes to your one hour session, you can accomplish more with your hour. You'll be surprised how much you can cover in an hour. Her feedback and methods were invaluable to me. She helped me raise my Quantitative GRE score from 156 to 159. I'm quite pleased with that!
