The Best Organic (and General) Chemistry Tutor in the Business

I’m weird. Weird in the sense that I “threw away” a nearly perfect GPA, a great MCAT score, and a spotless Medical School application to pursue an Acting Career full-time. I didn’t become a doctor because I understand the utmost value of personal drive, and although I was extremely successful as a Pre-Med student I was not personally driven in the least to continue as a Medical School student. I was however, driven by doing my absolute best and getting extremely good grades, and found the tec…

Lisa S. from Castle Rock, CO My son received an 87 on his last AP Chemistry test after working with Joe for only 3 sessions. That's an 33% increase over where he was at the end of last semester!

David B. from Aurora, CO My tutoring sessions with Joe have been one of the best experiences in my undergrad education to date. My O Chem I grade was heavily skewed towards performance on the end of semester ACS exam. I met with Joe 5 times in the last month of the course and I honestly learned more from him than I did from my professor the entire semester. Joe is amazingly able to teach without the assistance of a textbook or notes and he knows the concepts, mechanisms and reactions so well it makes learning incredibly easy. With his help I was able to score in the 90th percentile on the ACS exam (which was 3rd highest in my class) and I finished this difficult course with an A! I really wish I had found Joe earlier in the semester so that I would have felt as confident during the spring as I was heading into the final. I have Organic II coming up in the fall and I won't make the same mistake twice. I'll be meeting with him consistently throughout the semester and fully expect to finish with another great grade! I'm also taking the GRE next week and Joe was great for reviewing and refining my Algebra, Geometry and Statistics skills I will need for getting into Grad school. Thanks Joe for all your help!

Camie K. from Littleton, CO You don't often meet someone who is super-bright and open and approachable as well. Joe is certainly all these things. Our 16-year old daughter has been frustrated in her Honors Chemistry class all year. She had gone to her teacher many times for clarification on several concepts, but remained frustrated. We turned to WyzAnt and were drawn to Joe's bio immediately. We made arrangements to meet with Joe. Our daughter is very shy. We really had concerns that she might not be communicative enough to make the tutoring worthwhile. Joe put her completely at ease. He knows his subject matter through and through. Our daughter now has complete confidence; it's so wonderful to see. Joe also shared some terrific advice on our college search. In our daughter's words: "Joe makes everything clear, very clear". There aren't too many 'home runs' in parenting, but our 2 sessions with Joe definitely qualify. We highly recommend Joe. Update 5/31/14: Our daughter received a grade of 98% on her Chemistry final, which bumped her up to an 'A' for her semester grade. She's so happy and full of confidence. All because of Joe. Thank you so much Joe!

Loretta M. from Littleton, CO Junior year isn't easy, everyone says it, and it can't be more true. I'm an IB student, and junior year is not only filled with ACT, SAT, and AP tests, but in my case, IB tests as well. I had IB Chemistry this year, and I was definitely struggling, and with only two weeks before the test did I realize I needed help, ASAP. My mom checked out WyzAnt and looked at IB tutors, and Joe seemed like the perfect candidate. We worked literally every single day the week before my exam, and he was extremely helpful; directed me towards making very specific flashcards, going through every unit and hitting the most important parts of each one, and explaining all of it in the clearest way. I went into that exam with confidence in the knowledge that I needed to do well, and it's surely not an easy test. After my chemistry exam, I had a biology final three days later, also a bit stressful. Nonetheless, Joe helped me very much with preparing for cell respiration/photosynthesis, cell division, and neurobiology (none of them easy topics to understand the night before), so we worked, just as diligently. Joe is an extremely knowledgeable tutor and really knows what he's talking about not only with chemistry but with biology as well. Biology went very well with the final and now the wait begins with the exam results for chemistry; without Joe's help, I wouldn't have ended with a B in biology and be as confident as I am in my chemistry score. It was a tough week of studying non-stop, but it wouldn't have been as productive or successful without Joe as my tutor!! I would totally recommend him for ANY science tutoring help you need with!!

David J. from Larkspur, CO I have had the pleasure of being tutored by Joe in Biochemistry and cannot sing his praises enough. I highly recommend him to anyone considering being tutored! He is the most patient, reliable, positive, flexible, knowledgeable, supportive, and relatable tutor I?ve ever worked with. It is quite obvious that he genuinely cares and has a passion for helping students understand the material and ultimately become successful in their class. After each tutor session with him, I felt so empowered as if I had just mastered the material and could go teach someone else what I just learned. His tutoring style actually made me excited to do my homework and take my tests. I know that probably sounds crazy because who the heck gets excited to do Biochemistry homework and take tests?! He is extremely adaptable and has many different techniques to help all styles of learning (even via Skype which I admit I was hesitant about initially). Joe is very discerning and intuitive, and he recognized when I was experiencing brain overload and made me feel comfortable about taking much needed breaks. He also recognized when/how to push me when I needed a little boost, encouragement, and accountability. I personally have battled with a long history of extreme test anxiety but he made me feel more confident than I?ve ever felt going into my exams. What a major life hurdle he helped me overcome and I am so grateful! I?ve had other tutors in the past who were certainly knowledgeable about the subject matter (and also confused the heck out of me!), but being knowledgeable about a subject and knowing how to teach it and make it relatable to others are two completely separate things. Joe truly has a gift and is worth every penny (and then some!). Consider yourself to be lucky if you work with Joe. If you?re on the fence, as I was, about hiring a tutor I hope this review has helped with your decision. You will certainly be glad that you?ve made this positive investment in yourself and your future!
