My name is Lars and I am looking forward to teaching you guitar. I’ve been teaching guitar for 7 years. I believe that anybody can learn to play well, if they work hard, stick with it and have a passion for it. Because I did. It took a lot of work for me and did not come easy. It’s never easy, nor should it be, because a person is learning a real skill. But the rewards of improving are wonderful, a sense of accomplishment and confidence is being built in a person as a result of the hard work they are putting in. This is especially great to see in young kids. And of course it’s really fun and in my opinion the best thing in the world. The starting age doesn’t matter, old or young, a person can get so much out of music on so many levels.
In addition to music, I also teach the Swedish language, (conversation only) and Tennis. I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden. Grew up playing tennis, was a competitive junior player and also played briefly on the circuit. I’ve been coaching tennis in Atlanta since 1989. I worked at clubs, swim/tennis neighborhoods and independently. While having been a touring/recording musician I found the sports side being very complementary to it and probably kept me out of more trouble at times.
