Preschool in Whiteland, IN 46184
Guardian Angel Daycare Ministry was established in 1997 by a minister’s wife who had a vision for children to be taken care of on a daily basis in a Christ-like and loving environment. It originally existed as a ministry of the New Whiteland Christian Church. In 2000 Linda Wuest was asked to take over as the director of the ministry. In spring 2008 the daycare moved to the current location at the United Methodist Church. It is governed by the trustees and board of the church. We are registered for the health and safety of our children.
Our church carries liability coverage that protects the children while on the church property and while participating in regular activities.
Our care includes a well-rounded program centered on God’s love. Crafts music-rhythms stories videos indoor and outdoor play simple nature experiments and conversation time all help provide a variety of activities to expand inquisitive minds. Creative expression time gives the children an opportunity to develop individually paced skills such as muscle coordination imagination and listening.

A typical day at Guardian Angel Preschool will allow your child to engage in a variety of hands on activities that will encourage physical academic social and spiritual growth and development.
Your child will be placed in small group of same aged peers and will travel with that group through a variety of learning experiences. Each activity will be guided by a teacher and will allow your child to experience the world through all the senses.
The children will visit 4 basic learning stations each day. In each they will have the opportunity to focus on a specific task or to experiment through the use of free play.
In the science and math center children will count sort and explore manipulative that will develop an awareness of everyday number use. They will also participate in science and cooking experiments that allow them to use measurement and to test things according to scientific theory.
In the language room children will work with alphabet letters using music games and puzzles. Traditional efforts to copy letters will be presented to our pre-kindergarten students.
The art area will allow children the chance to use scissors glue markers paint and other supplies to create masterpieces for the refrigerator gallery. This fall we will be looking at “Life in the Ocean” so as alphabet letters are introduced art work will reflect ocean life that begins with each letter.
Our music movement and snack room is sure to be a favorite. The children will practice dance finger plays and children’s songs that will stay with them for a lifetime. They will also take turns sharing a snack with their classmates three times during the year.
Our final experience is also important and fun! In the literacy room children can hear age appropriate literature and model what they have learned or invent their own adventures with toys that will inspire the imagination.
Weekly chapel lessons and regular service projects will help develop character and allow children to understand God’s love for them. Field trips will be offered as family events in the fall and spring to allow children to meet community members. Christmas and Graduation programs are well attended by family and friends and celebrate the growth the children experience throughout the year.
