In our infant classroom, babies six weeks to fourteen months are cared for by loving and nurturing teachers. Infant room is self-contained, which gives our littlest ones a safe and secure environment in which to learn and grow, and our teachers can easily individualize each infants’ schedule according to parents’ wishes. Vocabulary development can occur very rapidly in these young children and songs and finger plays are a great reinforcement. In addition, Ms. Allison is supervising her children as they try to cut out pumpkins, while Ms. Lisa is creating a market -like setting so the children can role play as farmers and customers. Ms. Diane is busy getting her students ready for Fall. The students are utilizing their new math skills by weighing pumpkins and organizing their pumpkins by size. Ms. Debbie is busy recording many stories that her class has created. They have a busy morning including circle time, reading readiness and an art activity. Both rooms enjoyed combining for some pumpkin bread making. Sight words fill the Kindergarten room. The children are making their own stories using their new words. The math center is filled with materials including corn kernels for measurement activities. Our playground echoes with laughter as the children enjoy practicing some gross motor skills outside.
