Aloha Childcare Center

Preschool in Tacoma, WA 98404

At Aloha Childcare Center, family is all of us. Parents, staff and child are equally a part of the family. We know that children learn, at their best, when their basic needs are met. Also, families thrive when stress is absent or to a minimum. Therefore, the physical, mental , emotional, and spiritual health of staff, children and parents are most important to Aloha Childcare Center. Furthermore, the most important time in life is the early years, so we know that children must have positive influences, interactions, examples, and education. The focus of our program is to make learning fun for the children, so they can view school as a desirable place throughout their early learning. Parents are welcome to share in their child’s learning experiences, and we aim to keep parents informed about their child’s cognitive, social emotional, and self help development. All children need to feel love, care and acceptance from those around them to have healthy growth. Our mission is to provide families with the level of care for their child, that gives all the children in our program the love, care and acceptance they need to learn and grow.

Children learn best through play. Aloha’s curriculum is play based, emergent and open ended. We learn what the children want to learn. This is done in the form of emergent curriculum. Children are usually introduced to a new idea or theme, then they find new interesting ideas and things to learn about from the first idea or theme. At Aloha Childcare Center, we see children as capable learners and doers. Open ended curriculum allows the children to be creative and express their talents naturally. We can guide their learning without removing their creativity and curiosity through open ended and emergent curriculum.
