Happy Campers Preschool Daycare

The Grech Family established Happy Campers, in 1993. Happy Campers started as a family daycare in Foster City, CA and after three years moved the little daycare to a large center in San Carlos, CA. On April 8, 1996, we started our center with one child and now we have approximately ninety children ranging in age from three months to six years. We are very proud of all we have accomplished and that we provide a unique program that serves such a variety of ages. Our director, Audra Tsivikas, co-founded Happy Campers with her parents John and Angela Grech. Although John and Angela did not have any formal training with children, they had the love and drive it took to start a succesSFul school. They are both very active in all aspects of Happy Campers. Audra has worked in the Early Childhood Education field for almost 20 years. She graduated from California State University at Hayward, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. She also holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education, as well as an Early Childhood Education Certificate from Canada College. In the past, Audra was the Vice President of Program for San Mateo Association for the Education of Young Children (SMAEYC), where she organized local workshops for Early Childhood Educators. She has also attended several national conferences, most recently in New York. Audra feels that early childhood professionals must constantly continue to improve their education, attend workshops, and be involved in professional organizations to stay current in this quickly changing field. Recently, Happy Campers was voted by Bay Area Parent Magazine as the Family Favorite Winner twice!
