- The screenings are held throughout the school year. Children ages 2.9 through 5, who are not in kindergarten, and live within the TD3 boundaries are eligible. We screen cognition, language, speech, social skills, vision and hearing. Parents who live in the TD3 boundaries and are concerned that their child may not be reaching age appropriate milestones, and parents of typically developing children, are encouraged have him/her screened.

The Early Childhood Programs in the district utilize a combination of teacher-directed and child-directed activities and a variety of interest centers to encourage children to explore and learn in an active hands-on way. Activities are planned to promote:
Language development Beginning literacy and numeracy skills Problem solving and logical thinking Gross and fine motor development Creative expressionChildren are encouraged to develop independence and self-confidence, social skills and a love of learning. Guidelines for district preschool teachers come from Creative Curriculum, the state Early Learning Standards, and Harcourt materials for literacy and math.
TD3 has one classroom used for a half-day Kindergarten program. The program teacher must follow all state standards required of kindergarten. Currently, the program is housed at Arredondo Elementary School.
