Immigrant Social Service at P.S. 2

P.S. 2’s mission is to nurture the intellectual and social development of each child. Our children leave P.S. 2 with a vision for the future and a deep appreciation of their burgeoning literacy. Our extensive in-depth planning reflects the research-based performance standards to which we subscribe. Our teachers use these standards and daily assessments to set goals plan for effective instruction and monitor student performance. As a result our instructional practice strives for reflective authenticity. We aim to raise the children’s sense of self-worth as well as their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to prepare them for life in the 21st century. Since learning is an ongoing process we keep abreast of educational developments and inspiring research. We strive towards bringing all our students to high levels of performance.
