The Family Child Development Center (FCDC) is a nonprofit early childhood education and childcare center conveniently located in Plymouth, Minnesota. FCDC offers full-time and part-time child care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
FCDCs unique approach to child care is based on our philosophy that learning is a social experience. We have a strong commitment to meeting each childs developmental and educational needs. FCDC balances its curriculum between children exploring concepts through self-directed play and teachers introducing academic concepts. FCDC nurtures each childs creativity and curiosity, helping them to achieve their highest potential.
FCDC works in partnership with families, following the Principles of Family Support. Parent engagement is encouraged and there are multiple ways to become involved in our classrooms and organization.

Family Child Development Center is an educational nonprofit child care center open to all children. FCDCs unique approach to child care is based on our philosophy that learning is a social experience. We have a strong commitment to meeting each childs developmental and educational needs. It is our belief that, with an appropriate learning environment and the guidance of professional teachers, each child will realize his potentialphysically, emotionally, socially and cognitively. FCDC prides itself in using lower teacher to child ratios than required by state regulations and most other child care centers. We utilize a team-teaching approach in each classroom. In addition, FCDC maintains a Child Development Coordinator on its staff to support children who have special needs. These unique features provide a nurturing environment for all children to develop, grow and learn.
