General Guidance Philosophy
Our center will use positive guidance techniques such as modeling and encouraging expected behavior, redirection and setting clear goals.
Our goal is to guide children into becoming happy, responsible and cooperative participants through positive teaching techniques. In the event that behavior requires discipline:
Teacher action will not damage the childs self-image.
Teacher action will help children learn self-control, choose alternatives, identify feelings, and develop an understanding and respect of feelings for other. Teachers will communicate regularly with families regarding behavior concerns.
Staff will work as a team with the child and parents to solve problems related to behavior.
Additional information can be found in the Little Camp Congress Child Care Policy Handbook, which is available for review at the child care center.
