Sunshine Schoolhouse was developed with the idea of creating a unique, fun and creative atmosphere in which children could develop their young minds. Established in 1997, Sunshine Schoolhouse opened as a Christian Nursery School in Freehold, NJ. Our passion for educating preschoolers and the positive contributions we felt we were making on young children and their families, led us to open in 2004, a second location in Millstone Township, NJ.
The nursery programs at Sunshine Schoolhouse are creative, innovative, fun-filled, active and comprehensive. The specific classroom activities for your child will depend on the age group. Through games, crafts, music, stories and more, your child will learn wonderful concepts that they can apply meaningfully to their everyday life.

Our nursery school curriculum embraces each childs cognitive, emotional, social and physical development. Every students individual abilities and personality is respected in a positive way. Your childs achievements are reinforced daily through encouragement and praise.
A summary of our classes are as follows:
Three Year Old Classes are especially designed to nurture your childs love of discovery and sharing as he or she leaves you for the first time at school. Our plan is to encourage and reinforce your childs abilities in all learning areas. Color and shape recognition, sharing with others, music/movement activities, arts and crafts are cornerstones of this program.
Four Year Old Classes introduce letter, number, and science/nature concepts. Critical thinking and problem solving activities are highlights of this curriculum.
Pre-Kindergarten Classes are designed for students who will be attending Kindergarten the next school year. A wide range of letter, number, science, hand-writing, music, movement and arts & craft activities are presented each day to challenge and delight our early learners.
Mommy and Me (or Grown Up and Me) Classes provide an early introduction to pre-school. A variety of age-appropriate art, music,readiness skills and social activities are planned each week. Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
Enrichment Program for Early Learners is offered for children ages four through six years old (Pre-K through Kindergarten). This program is a multi-age experience for students who are ready for a creative and challenging learning environment. Math skills, literature, reading readiness, problem solving, social studies and science activities are building blocks of this fun filled class.
