The Mentor United Methodist Preschool began in 1967 as the Mentor United Methodist Nursery School when Miss Mae Booth canvassed church families with young children to see if there was a need for a nursery school. With the results of the survey the Commission on Education established a nursery school consisting of two classes in the fall of 1967.
The Preschool Committee has guided the growth of the preschool and over the years enabled the painting of Sunday school classrooms develop and maintain the playground purchase equipment and furniture pay rent annually and contribute to the churchs building fund.
Currently the Mentor United Methodist Preschool offers six classes with a staff of eight teachers and assistants a music teacher and a director. Registration for church members is held in January registration for current students is at the end of January and open registration is held in February.
