Westport Road Bible Preschool

The program at Westport Road Bible Preschool will strive to help your child feel good about his or her world and to have dignity and worth as an individual. Our preschool is fully licensed by the Kentucky Department for Human Resources and meets all the requirements of a full time daycare facility. Each staff member is required to complete 15 hours of continuing education relating to early childhood education each year. At least five staff members are CPR and first aid certified. Children are admitted regardless of race, creed, sex, national origin or religion.

We exist to teach children concern and love for others and themselves. We want each child to grow in the knowledge of God and His love and care; therefore, a Bible story will presented to the children each day. Children will also be afforded the opportunity to pray before snack and lunch.

Art activities are an important part of our program. Creative art offers a young child an important opportunity to give expression to what he or she thinks and feels. Art activities are valuable tools to promote growth and development.

Music is a special and fun time at preschool. The entire school will join for a period of group singing and action songs twice a week. Children will learn fun, seasonal songs, as well as songs that teach about God and His love. Simple instruments are often included to encourage rhythm and enjoyment.

Children learn by active participation. Learning centers are incorporated into each classroom and the playroom to give the children the opportunity to make choices, work independently and in small groups to develop special interests. Centers may focus on fine or gross motor skills, math, science, languages or imaginative play. Socialization and problem solving skills are also developed in centers.

Our education plan for each classroom is age appropriate and has been carefully prepared to encompass all children. Every child is unique; no two are alike. Children follow different patterns of growth and development, but God has given each one a different life and environment which allows them to develop at their own rate.

Each staff member at Westport Road Bible Preschool will strive to make preschool a fascinating and enjoyable time for your child, while laying the foundation for success in future school years. Every child is precious and we will work to let your child know that he or she is a very special little person.
