Preschool in Lakewood, NJ 08701
Immanuel Lutheran Nursery School was established nearly 40 years ago and has maintained its reputation for excellence in education since it first opened its doors. Many of our former students now have families of their own and their children have become members of the Immanuel Nursery School family. Our students typically reside in the towns of Jackson, Howell, Lakewood, Brick, Toms River, Manchester and New Egypt, NJ.
We provide a daily program specifically designed for three, four, and five year old students in an atmosphere that will be conducive to the full development of your child. We plan to give the children an excellent introduction to school and the educational tools that they will need in the future. These are the most important years in the education of your child.
At Immanuel Lutheran Nursery School you can be assured that your child’s well-being is constantly taken into consideration. Our fully trained and conscientious staff realizes that children grow at different rates and have a variety of interests. Our goal is to “help children become emotionally secure, intellectually aware, and socially adjusted in a physically safe and healthy environment.”

The school’s curriculum provides a flexible daily program that is specifically geared to the interests of the preschool child. Our teachers provide a positive atmosphere where each student feels comfortable and has the opportunity to explore, question, and learn at their own pace.
The young child acquires valuable language and socialization skills as he/she interacts with the other youngsters through role playing situations in the house keeping center or goal-directed tasks at the block corner, puzzle table or science table.
A day in nursery school may include number readiness games, Show and Tell, marching to records, using the water table, and preparing a snack. They also may enjoy a visit from a community helper, making pictures for a thank you booklet, learning to experiment with different art materials, or creating at the work bench.
Our students have the opportunity to explore various media and engage in numerous “hands-on” experiences. Everyday they have the opportunity to refine and expand previously acquired skills. We encourage cooperation and self-reliance so that the child is able to build a positive self-image.
