Desert YMCA La Quinta Preschool

The La Quinta Preschool Program has a full/part-time Preschool program, after school program and State Preschool program. All of the programs are designed to enrich and educate the children.

The Preschool is designed to meet the families needs. Childcare is available two, three and five days a week. It is also available as a half day program. All half day and part day programs need designated days of attendance. The After-School Program serves Truman Elementary. We provide care for children in Kindergarten through the 5th grade. We provide before and after school care and all day care for the children when school is closed for holidays and the summer months. The program also has two, three and five day plans. The State Preschool consists of two- three hour sessions (9:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:00). These sessions are funded through the State of California and are OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT during the summer months. After classes begin in September enrollment is based on family size and income. The families go on a Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) until they are called for enrollment. The YMCA also provides childcare for families in need of more than the three hours of state Preschool. The wrap-around program provides care when the children are not in the State Program. Financial Assistance is available for all the programs that are not funded by the State.
