The ABeka curriculum is used throughout the school, K3- eighth grade, and stress phonics for reading readiness and the basics in each subject. A full music program is offer complete with a winter musical and Art to include drawing, painting, and sculpturing. Our Physical Education program includes everything from intramural competitive games to jump rope; and our computer class instruction includes project development, power point presentations and web design.
Our teachers are committed to excellence and are thoroughly trained in the use of the ABeka curriculum. Their ongoing desire is to see our students succeed in all areas of academics as well as in their spiritual development. Class sizes are small, for a low pupil/teacher ratio.
The Academys Parent Teacher Fellowship lends invaluable assistance and support to the school and its many activities. Parents are required to invest 12 hours of volunteer service to this organization in order to ensure their commitment to their children, our Academy, and its purposes. This requirement can be fulfilled by means of attending regular meetings, attending prayer walks, chaperoning field trips, or helping out with staffing fundraisers here at the school. We look forward to partnering with you to make the most of your childs school experience and help us accomplish our desired ministry goal.

Potomac Heights Christian Academy has set forth educational objectives, which will promote and provide for the building of sound Christian character in all ages. Recognizing that mans chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, it is without apology that we make our foremost objective that of preparing minds and bodies spiritually to know God personally and become all that He expects and desires His children to be in all facets of life.
The curriculum that we use encourages students to think clearly, logically, and independently. A major priority of the Academy is that students are taught the importance of self-discipline and self-control. Both of these tenets are to be sought after and practiced daily.
Potomac Heights Christian Academy believes in an early academic foundation stressing the 3 Rs, with learning basic skills, study habits, and motor skill development being most essential. Such an academic stage is set in our primary grades and blended with Christian character and citizenship. As the student progresses through the various stages of academic development and advances from grade to grade, this blending of Christian character, citizenship, and academics continues.
