Sycamore Christian Preschool was originated by Sycamore Congregational Church’s Japanese Language division the Nichigobu. It began as a playgroup in May 1995 with two children. The staff was made up of Asayo Kawase a preschool teacher who was called from Japan and Marume Nakano the wife of the Nichigobu minister at that time.sign The playgroup was well received and an application was made for an official preschool license from the State of California. The license was granted in April 1996 and the school officially began operating as Sycamore Christian Preschool.
