New Friends Child Care and Preschool

New Friends is open Monday-Friday 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. We provide quality care for children 6 weeks through 13 years old, which will meet his/her cognitive, social, emotional, and physical needs in an appropriate and nurturing environment.

School Age Children

We offer before/after care for children that are school age. Some elementary schools in Edison will drop the children off on the corner and we meet them at their bus stop.

We except drop-ins when your childs’ school is closed.

Summer Camp is offered during the summer months. We offer field trips every Wednesday that are an additional expense. Some examples of school trips we go on are: The Zoo, Bounce U, Jenkinsons Pier, Camden Aquarium, and many more.

Music Class

Every Wednesday Ms. Abby comes to our school for Music and Movement. She sing songs, play instruments, read stories, and play with puppets. She goes class room-to-classroom so each class is age-appropriate.

Policy Agreements

Clothing: Each child is required to have an extra set of clothing in his or her cubby. All of the children will be using glue, paint, and craft materials. We recommend that your child dress in casual play clothes. The children also play outside on a daily basis so please dress them appropriately for the weather.

Rest Periods: All children at the school will have an afternoon rest period/nap. New Friends will supply all mats and cribs. It is the responsibility of the parent to supply a sheet and blanket/sleeping bags.

Storage: All children will have their own cubby for their belongings.

Potty Training: We help with the potty training process usually around the age of 2- 2.5.

Safety

Our facility is equipped with an electronic keypad at our entrance. Enrolled families are given a code to enter the building. All other visitors must ring the door bell to get in and show proper identification.

All of our play equipment is safe and meets the Playground Safety Sub-code for the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code. Mats are put under the slides for cushion in case of a fall. Our jungle gym is surrounded by wood chips as an extra precaution in case of a fall. We ask that you sign your child in and out on a daily basis.

We conduct fire drills every month.

Posted emergency evacuation plans around the school.

We keep Medication logs, Accident logs, and Food Allergy logs.

Cleanliness

Our school is professionally cleaned every week. However, our staff cleans the building on a daily basis. They are trained to sanitize all toys as well as keeping their rooms in an orderly fashion.
