El Primer Paso is proud to be committed to promoting the development and support of children and families in a caring, multicultural environment. This commitment is based on respect and integrity that encourage educational partnerships with families and the community, to provide developmentally appropriate education for all children in the program, accommodating each child’s individual needs and abilities.
*Goals: The goals of the program are to prepare children for educational and personal success by providing opportunities for growth in the areas of social/emotional development, cognitive development, physical development, and language development, with a particular focus on English language acquisition with bilingual support. The children’s development of English speaking, listening and emergent literacy skills as well as enrichment of Spanish language will be supported to the greatest extent possible in the classroom. It is recommended that parents support the maintenance and development of their child’s home language at home—we hope that our children have the opportunity to learn and develop two or more languages.
