The Park Road Baptist Church Child Development Center was established in 1970 as a ministry of the church to serve the children of working parents in the community. The CDC provides a full day educational child development program for 115 children from 3 months to 5 years of age, including before and after school care. It also offers a full day summer camp for 25 children from kindergarten to eleven years of age.

The toys, equipment, and activity centers are designed to help each child develop certain concepts and skills that will form the foundation upon which they will build throughout the years in education facilities and beyond.
