Our Center offers a loving rich and alive learning environment that combines a nurturing family atmosphere with a progressive approach to education. The integration of the “Reggio Philosophy” project approach and “Emergent Curriculum” has become the matrix for our educational system. Our philosophy is that children learn through natural discovery and their environment should provide a balance of free exploration and classroom teaching. If children feel confident and are allowed to express a natural curiosity they will often discover many answers to their own questions through play and using classroom materials. Children can learn that there are many ways to find an answer to a question and experience great joy in the learning process. Imagination and curiosity are essential ingredients in encouraging children to become inquisitive learners with strong self-esteem and self-confidence.
Classrooms provide a safe and secure “home-like” atmosphere where the child can feel comfortable exploring questioning and experimenting. Understanding that constructive play is the foundation for learning an age-appropriate and balanced curriculum offers a variety of activities to meet the social emotional and cognitive needs of each child. Each program incorporates music drama and art as a means of fostering self-expression creativity and a curious mind. We believe in presenting materials and activities in a relaxed manner which allows children to gain knowledge through creative thinking problem solving and discovery. The curriculum has an emphasis of hands-on experience and is designed to challenge children as well as instill a feeling of success. Encouragement and praise
are important factors that fuel the learning process and go hand-in-hand with teacher
role modeling and guidance.
