Inner Force Economic Development

Dr Garey Ellis co-founder of Inner Force Student Leadership Institute with his wife Tomora provides a dazzling list of after-school weekend and a five-week summer enrichment programs to children ages 3 to 15.

“We calculated that we spend as much time with a student in our after-school and weekend programs as their parents do” Dr Ellis said. “We can have an impact on that child’s upbringing and hopefully offset any negativity they are encountering.”

Hundreds of children have participated in Inner Force’s programs which are run out of New York City College of Technology and NYU Polytechnic University classrooms in downtown Brooklyn.

Among the course offerings are instruction in math science computer science writing critical thinking problem-solving and leadership training.

Inner Force also offers preparation courses for Regents and specialized high school exams.

Dr Ellis also has set up scholarship funds at Polytechnical and City Tech that help pay for any Inner Force graduate to attend. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
