Providence Rest Child Day Care

We are located on the property of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist near Providence Rest Nursing Home in a cozy two story house facing Eastchester Bay.

We provide a clean safe comfortable environment where each child is respected as an individual. Parents guardian teachers and mentors work together to ensure that our children’s learning experiences result in developmental growth and integrity. Our curriculum is focused on pre-school education including computer lessons once a week and a wide range of recreational activities. We provide for the development of the whole child emphasizing respect of self God others and the environment self-knowledge self-esteem and confidence. Through listening speaking writing and creativity skills each child develops individually and socially. Each day we follow a flexible schedule which allows for spontaneous occurrences and impromptu experiences. It includes periods of active indoor and outdoor play art projects story time quiet time rest time lunch and snacks. Our unique program is intergenerational. The children have various opportunities to inter-act with the residents of the Providence Rest Nursing Home. It provides for the loving care that the residents can give to the children who may not be fortunate enough to have grandparents. For the residents it has proved to be a new purpose for living.
