Congregational Preschool was established in 1965, and it was the very first preschool in Austin! We have a forty-four year tradition of cherishing preschoolers and their families, and we continue to welcome children of all backgrounds with a staff of licensed, experienced teachers and assistants.

Congregational Preschool offers a rich curriculum of kindergarten readiness activities designed to develop social skills tailored to fit the individual needs of each child.
Our program offers arts and handicraft projects that develop small muscle control and working with hands for coordination. The school has a large inventory of educational and manipulative toys, science materials, musical instruments, and story enhancing ideas to help with the development of physical and intellectual skills. We utilize dramatic play to provide the opportunity for creative expression. Time is provided for learning colors and shapes, and there is an emphasis on numbers, counting, letters, and subjects related to the day’s activities. We have a snack in the mid-morning and a quiet time to balance an active program. We encourage big muscle activities during our outdoor playtime or in our basement playroom. We try to meet the needs of each child.
