Kids Play

At Kids-Play we believe that children are competent full of potential and most importantly worthy of respect. We recognize that our beliefs about children and how they learn shape both teacher-child interactions and the classroom curriculum. We believe that young children are capable meaning-makers with questions ideas and theories about how the world works. So our teachers listen to and learn from each childs ideas and interests to create the classroom environment and learning experiences.

We honor parents and families as partners in the relationship with children teachers and staff to create a larger caring community.

This underlying philosophy of respect reciprocal relationship and community manifests itself in our goals:
To provide nurturing care in a safe clean enjoyable environment ensuring that each childs emotional and physical needs are met.
To provide a learning program that is responsive to childrens ideas and interests engaging them in projects and investigations where they are encouraged to make decisions solve problems and negotiate with others in group work.
To provide opportunities for children to express their ideas and understanding using a variety of materials and media.
To make the learning visible to parents and families the children and to others using a variety of assessment and documentation methods.
To recognize parents and families as partners in the life of the program.
