Our Mission at CMCLC is to help our children soar to success by giving them a good foundation from the start and helping them grow into confident leaders.
CMCLC will do this by providing children an environment that fosters growth through a positive learning experience. Young children learn when given the opportunity to have an active, exploring, challenging, and educational day. This occurs optimally when their physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and educational needs are met and they feel secure to explore and learn. Through this process they learn vital tools that can be used throughout life and can empower them to become leaders.

Our curriculum is based on the knowledge that young children learn in an active, exploring, challenging, and an educational environment. CMCLC uses Houghton Mifflin and Macmillan/McGraw-Hill in our classrooms. Both of these educational curriculums are approved by the State of Maryland and are recognized as industry leaders in providing the best quality programs for young children. The curriculum provides teachers with classroom set-up, classroom interactive learning centers, and daily lesson plans for all elements of learning.
Our environment supports learning as a process and that doing is often more important than the outcome. Our classrooms are set-up in interactive centers that offer children opportunities to investigate their surroundings, interact with each other, and experience learning adventures. We incorporate materials into the classroom that encourage language development, literacy, math, science, social studies, creative arts, music, cooking, computers, social and emotional development, reading/writing, dramatic play, and free play. We teach children about topics that they can relate to, interests them, and that they can use throughout their lives. Our many themes are designed for children to gain effective tools and knowledge for everyday life.
Our programs help children expand on what they already know, build new skills, and develop ideas that could lead them to a new learning experience. We thrive on children being curious, asking questions, and taking an active role in their learning journey. We allow children to make small age appropriate choices that will help them to grow. CMCLC also spends time working with each child to ensure they are excelling at their own pace, they are learning what is being taught, and that the activities are modified for each child’s learning abilities.
