Woodson Early Head Start Program

Early Head Start is a federally funded program providing early continuous intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis to low-income families with children ages birth-to-three and pregnant women. The purpose of the program is to enhance children’s physical social emotional and intellectual development; to support parents’ efforts to fulfill their parental roles; and to help parents move toward self sufficiency. The AISD Early Head Start program targets pregnant and parenting teens enrolled in the AISD. The program serves 148 infants and toddlers and 8 pregnant women. Federal funding exceeds $2000000 annually.
