PHILOSOPHY:
While I am a state certified early childhood/level 1 special education educator, this is not a pre-school. It is my goal to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate and nurturing learning environment that is primarily child centered, yet teacher directed as well. I strive for individualized learning; where each child learns at his/her developmental level and pace through play and social interaction. Children learn through incorporating all the senses. Therefore, activities are exploratory and hands-on in nature. Our day consists of learning through play, art, crafts, music, books and other social experiences. Basic skills will be encouraged through everyday experiences: colors, numbers, ABC’s, names, and shapes. Children will also be encouraged yet never forced to participate. When a child from my Child Care enters school, (s)he is ready to learn.
