The YWCA Trenton’s Day Care Center offers a creative curriculum that enrihes each child’s academic and social horizons.
The YWCA offers an After School Program that focuses on scholastic achievement, character building, cultural awareness and personal development.
The After School Program serves youth ages 5-13. Regular program hours for the After School program are 2-6 pm Monday through Friday.
Children are transported to the YWCA Trenton from their respective schools (Rivera, Parker, Kilmer, or PJ HIll). Schools may be added or deleted based on location and number of children at each school. Call for transportation information.
Upon arrival at the YWCA Trenton, a nutritious snack is offered. There is time set aside for homework help and reading in addition to weekly visits to the Public Library, art, dance and computer instruction.

Children are introduced to appropriate social skills such as sharing, cooperating, taking turns, sitting quietly in circle time, putting toys away, respect for others and good manners. We also encourage the development of listening skills, and becoming independent learners.
Our day consists of unstructured learning time, structured activities such as circle time where we offer enrichment through songs, fingerplays and stories. Hands-on activities are emphasized as we reinforce the theme of the day. Children develop skills in color and shape recognition, using imagination, painting, sequencing, sorting, science, and art. Music is incorporated into the routine by teacher-led song and dance.
