Our school continues to participate in the reading program, Success for All, a nationally recognized program out of Johns Hopkins University. Knowing how to read is key to all other things we do in a school. Without success in reading, a child is at a disadvantage everywhere else. Our students have demonstrated that success can be for all! With a national call for no child to be left behind’ ( NCLB ), Wilson School is proud to have embraced a program that has something to offer every child and family. The key is forming a family-school partnership. The School Solutions Team (formerly called the Family Support Team) is a part of the SFA program that works hard to get families involved in their childrens education. When we form such partnerships, as our former school motto suggests, we are Wilson Winners !
In a continuing effort to enhance our curriculum, Hamilton Township adopted a new mathematics program for K-5, Math Expressions. Parent Conferences in October and February are a time to meet with a child’s teacher to learn more about how families can help their child/children in reading and math.
During this school year, our students will experience many new and exciting things typical of each new school year, that is, new teachers, new friends, new areas of learning to explore. With many cultures represented by Wilson families, our diverse population learns to celebrate different ways and different people To the young minds of the students of G.E. Wilson Elementary School, a truly marvelous cross-section of children that reflect the world around us, we are proud of you!
