Before & After School Program at Klockner School

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Klockner School. Klockner School is one of seventeen schools in Hamilton Township. As one of our older schools, we strive to lead the way of cultivating a sense of continuity and community for the families in this area.

Klockner School is the sight of extensive community and family oriented activities. Students in our upper grades participate in Family Math, Family Science and Family Tools and Technology Programs. Each of the four week family programs allow both the child and family to solve problems related to math, science, and technology. In addition, we have an ESL Family Program designed to assist all students and parents who may need support completing various forms. We welcome students from Nottingham High School and Crockett Middle School who volunteer to assist our students with special projects and extra help in reading, writing, and/or math. Our highly qualified staff is committed to providing a program that caters to the unique, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social needs of our diverse population. We are fortunate to have Resource Room teachers, Basic Skills and/or Title 1 teachers, and teachers who volunteer as mentors to provide individual students with opportunities for optimum learning on a daily basis. Our staff is committed to support the needs of each and every student entrusted in their care. In addition, we provide our students with a safe and healthy environment, enabling them to develop an understanding and respect for themselves and others. It is our ultimate goal to instill a love for learning, and provide our students with a firm foundation for their academic achievement and success in all their future endeavors.

In addition, all of our students participate in service projects. In 2005, we initiated our first official service club, Earlyact and our fifth grade students were inducted as officers and chairpersons of the club. Earlyact is a Rotary sponsored service club that has become a vital part of our schools character education program. By participating in service projects, our students gain an opportunity to improve the quality of life in their local community, their nation, and the world. Each year we collect at least $1000 to assist students in Kenya, provide food baskets to needy families in our community, and participate in other worthy causes such as Pennies for Patients and other adult and student illnesses.

Since 1908, our schools reputation and success has rested in large measure on parental support with PTA involvement. Parents have participated in classroom activities, trips, and PTA functions. Our PTA raises funds that assist in field trip activities, programs, and assemblies, and each year they donate a school gift that benefits our entire student body. Several of the gifts have been stage risers, used for our concerts, ceiling fans for each classroom, and most recently, DVD / VCR flat screen TV combination for each grade level classroom. Furthermore, they have sponsored at least one Family Night at a local restaurant each month. It is no wonder that we greatly appreciate and welcome the strong PTA involvement. We will continue to work together – Parents, teachers, administration, and the community to educate our students as the future leaders of tomorrow.
