Leto high school was built in 1965 as a community comprehensive high school. It offered programs ranging from arts and sciences to drafting and auto mechanics. With this in mind Leto has expanded its curriculum to meet the needs of its students. Letos vocational curriculum is alive and well. Leto also offers a wide range of courses designed to prepare students to further their education in the nations colleges and universities. Leto has some of the finest fine arts in the county. The band is considered one of the countys best and the chorus and orchestra has received superior ratings in competition. Students from Letos business education department drafting foreign language and math team have competed for state honors. Leto students are some of the brightest anywhere.
The school was named after Ateo Phillip Leto a former principal at Chamberlain high school. The original building took up only a small part of Letos 45 acre campus. With several additions the school has grown to accommodate over 2000 students! School improvement is constantly keeping up Letos grounds. Construction is in its final phase at the start of basketball season and the improvements have been tremendous. Our patio has received a million dollar face-lift. We have new amenities new science classrooms several learning labs and computer stations that have helped make our campus current enough to offer our students the ability to achieve.
