SMCISD Phoenix Learning Center

San Marcos CISD is becoming even more proactive in its approach to identifying students who may not complete high school in four years said Superintendent Dr. Patty Shafer. While we acknowledge the tremendous successes of PRIDE and Pathfinder the expectations have gone up and were moving quickly to meet those expectations. Shafer added that the Phoenix center will be considered a part of the San Marcos High School.

The Phoenix Learning Center will be located in the Lamar Annex 500 West Hutchison where Pathfinder has been located. Administrative offices formerly housed in the Lamar Annex will move to accommodate the additional students and staff moving to Lamar from the former PRIDE. Judy Mitchell formerly the PRIDE principal will be the principal of the Phoenix Learning Center. In her role of Director of Student Services Bea Flores (formerly the Pathfinder principal) will be the Director of the Phoenix center Rebound (the districts alternative discipline center) and other federal programs.
