Light House After School Program PS 1

With 3 sites in New York City’s Chinatown area out after school programs at PS 1 PS 124 and Anchor Development Center work to continue in our commitment to education. From 2:30 to 6:00 PM it is at these sites that the work of guiding children to do better takes places. It is in these programs that students learn from their after school teachers interact with their mentors and explore their horizons in their clubs. Students receive help in all of their homework assignments from elementary math to 5th grade American history. On a daily basis we help almost 200 students many of them children of immigrant parents.

We know that some students work better individually while others work better as a group. That is why the after school programs offers tutoring services in either a classroom setting where students can mingle or in an individualized setting where there is one tutor for every one student. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
