Step By Step ELC

At Step by Step children learn social skills through sharing and cooperation. They are encouraged to become independent thinkers and to use their senses to explore literature science and nature. The caring and nurturing environment is carefully designed to be intellectually stimulating but also free of pressure. Following the Montessori Method children learn to work both independently and in groups to make choices and decisions to exchange ideas and to discuss their work freely with others. A primary focus is on developing communication skills self-esteem and confidence.

All the teachers at Step by Step are highly qualified and Montessori trained. There are also teaching assistantsa low student to teacher ration is maintained. Children who need special-attention to help them adjust to separating from their parents or to new situations are guided and comforted.
Parents are informed of their child’s growth and progress through parent-teacher conferences and written progress reports and there is also a monthly newsletter to keep parents informed about school events and the curriculum.
