South Huntington Jewish Center

Housed in beautiful dedicated classrooms in the Rabbi and Rochelle Shapiro Education Center the SHJC Nursery School is a happy warm and creative environment where each child can develop intellectually emotionally and physically. In addition to learning basic age-appropriate educational concepts (shapes colors letters numbers sequencing etc.) our children are instilled with a preliminary understanding of and strong feelings for their Jewish heritage. Religious and secular holidays are taught and celebrated. Music plays an important role in our program and we have a full-time music specialist on staff.
We begin even at this early age to instill a love and appreciation for Israel in our young students. They’re introduced to the many regions of the country its historic landmarks and natural resources through our innovative Israel Day program which has been singled out by United Synagogue for a special award. This facility is authorized to administer medications
