YMCA at The Young Women's Leadership Academy

The Young Womens Leadership School (TYWLS) of Queens is an all-girls public school located in the Jamaica neighborhood that opened in 2005 with a class of 7th graders. TYWLS of Queens was modeled after our flagship school TYWLS of East Harlem in partnership with the NYC Department of Education and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The school offers low-income students an outstanding college-preparatory education personalized attention and hands-on learning where girls thrive academically.
