Small Steps

Small Steps is a child care center located in Hauppauge N.Y. We are licensed to accomodate children from 18 months to 5 years of age. We are opened from 7AM to 6PM Monday to Friday. We are located 1.5 miles from exit 57 on the Long Island Expressway.
Our school consists of 5 well-equipped classrooms. Each room is sunny and bright and airconditioned on hot summer days. We have a huge fenced outdoor play area with slides swings houses a castle log cabin and climbing apparatus. If the weather isn’t cooperating we have an indoor gym for lots of exercise!
Our focus at our child care center is to provide a warm caring environment combined with teaching age approriate concepts. This is our 11th year as owner/director and our school has been in existence for 20 years.

Small Steps has a staff of loving nurturing caregivers. They receive yearly in-service training in child development and meet all New York State requirements. Each staff member has a medical on file. A CPR and First Aid class is given each year and all staff members attend.
Our teachers have an appreciation for the uniqueness of each child. They consider each individuals’ needs when planning and preparing the days activities. We are focused on educating but of utmost importance we want our childrena to have the home away from home feeling that is so necessary in a child care program. Teachers are readily available for conferences or phone calls for continous communication.
We have an open door policy which allows a parent to visit the school at any time during our day. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
