There is a 5-day/week after school program for middle school youth in grades 5 through 8. Activities include educational enrichment and literacy discussion groups on topics of interest middle school youth and that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills arts music and dance Cocoa House music program counseling sports and much more. There is also open library access and a recording studio. Peer counseling peer tutoring and employment and volunteer activities are offered. During the summer an afternoon camp program is available to children ages 6 to11. As part of its focus on building youth leadership and community involvement a national demonstration program will engage junior high school students in a community civic and planning process. This facility is authorized to administer over-the-counter topical ointments only
