Charlotte United Christian Academy is not simply a private school or even a private, Christian school; it is a ministry of two local churches – Garr Church and Resurrection Church. As a result, the operation and policies of the school are solely determined by those churches. The educational philosophy of Charlotte United is based on the belief that (1) all truth is Gods truth (2) the Bible is the inspired written word of God (3) God wants us to know Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
Because God created and sustains all things, the students fundamental purpose is to know his or her Creator and to make Him known. Language, mathematics, social studies, sciences, art, and all other areas of learning are tools to help us understand Gods creation and to communicate that understanding to others.
All instruction is consistent with Scripture and with a God-centered view of the world. Academic learning occurs in light of the Word of God and the God- centered interpretation of facts and data. All academic disciplines, the fine arts, physical education, governments and various social issues are discussed in the light of Gods Word. Students grow in their knowledge and appreciation of God and His Word and respond to His call on their lives.
Our intention is that Charlotte United be a Christian school in precisely that order; Christian first, school second. Our ultimate goal is to please God in everything we do. If we manage to create a school that delights every person on earth but grieves the Lord, then as His children we fail in the most fundamental way. With that in mind, we must constantly and honestly assess our work with the question, Is this what Jesus wants?
The primary responsibility for the training and education of children rests with their parents, and to that end Charlotte United has the potential to be a powerful tool to assist parents in this process as an extension of the family. This extension, however, is made possible only as the school and the family agree in certain essential areas, including but not limited to the Lordship and preeminence of Jesus and the authority of Scripture.
