YMCA Child Development Center

The YMCA Child Development Center offers full-day child care for infants – age 12. The Center is state licensed and staffed by caring trained child care providers. Director Judy Smith holds a degree in elementary education with an endorsement in early childhood education. Her staff includes teachers with degrees and numerous years of experience in child care and education. The YMCA Child Development Center is located at Kids Square a multi-service center for children in Charlestown.

Children are placed in classrooms as determined by age and developmental levels from infant through school age. Children are accepted according to available space in their respective groups. Children over 3 are welcome on a daily basis; however full-time slots are given space priority. Classrooms have private restrooms activity centers and access to a fenced outdoor playground. During inclement weather children have an indoor play area that includes equipment for both fine and large motor skills.
