Hi! My name is Katie! I’ve been working with children since I was 16, so about 8 years now. I started out babysitting for my parents friends and friends of their friends and found that I really enjoyed it! The older I get, the more I appreciate spending time with kids. I am a very patient person and I genuinely enjoy caregiving. In the past, I’ve worked at two schools, P.S. 267, and P.S. 58. I was a TA for kindgergarten classes at both schools. I have the most experience with children ages 4-10 years old. I currently work as an artist and I love to help kids express themselves through arts and crafts! I prefer to let them choose what they want to do and I am there to make sure they are safe and guide them if they need help. I am a believer in learning from mistakes and I think arts and crafts can be a safe way to practice this! It’s also a great way to help them build confidence because they generally feel proud once they’ve completed their project.
