I became a babysitter after being a day camp counselor (at Coleman Country Day Camp) for 4 summers straight and loving the experience working with kids! As a camp counselor, I worked in a group of 20+ first grade boys around age 7 each summer, Monday through Friday. The job includes taking kids to the nurse, changing them for swim twice per day, serving lunch, handling conflicts, encouraging participation in sports/activities, etc. The position (1 year as a Counselor-in-Training, 3 years as an Assistant Counselor) provided me with tons of
childcare skills such as decision-making, communication, and problem-solving. The job also boosted my passion for wanting to work with children further in more ways during this school year! I’m very flexible and open to one time or last minute sittings or short term / long term!
