Hi I’m Tr, pronounced like “G”! I graduated from Columbia University last year in acting and studied Asian/American studies at UC Berkeley. I’ve been a basketball coach for 6th graders for two years (loving it), grew up in a Buddhist Youth group, and have volunteered at a hospital alongside nurses for end-of-life patients for 18 months. This past summer I also went on a medical mission in rural Vietnam to help locals at temples, assisting doctors. I love serving people and taking care of people, and hope to make communities feel safer and happier. It’s my goal to make your family and loved ones also feel safe and taken care of. I’m currently auditioning in theatre, and am reliable, timely and will do everything I can to make our time together a positive experience. I love working with kids, and try to be as kind and respectful as possible. When I worked as a basketball coach, I found the healthiest way to communicate was to be clear, gentle and present with each person, as kids’ needs are different. I never had any issues with rebelliousness/tantrums that can be common in sports. I found that my approach to listening helped every player feel valued and appreciated. If any kid was having a bad day, a good open talk on the side to address any thing bothering them, while also attending to our practice needs, would work. Similarly, I feel most kids just want to be listened to and helped. I never look down on kids in the way older people sometimes do, and I think that contributes to my ability to create a good relationship with kids, because of the foundation of respect. Because I worked in a hospital with a wide variety of patients, I try to be as non-judgmental and helpful with people who may have shyer temperaments or non-traditional modes of communication. I understand sensitive children can be overstimulated, and try to cultivate a calm presence to make sure people feel safe. I grew up with a neighbor who was neurodivergent and autistic, so if there are children with special needs, I know patience and gentleness become even more helpful. Furthermore, I believe every person regardless of differences in abilities deserves compassion, care and genuine relationship. Lastly, I know the fact I am male may cause hesitation, but I will always be safe, responsible and good to your kids. I will never endanger or jeopardize a kid’s safety. Taking care of another family’s kids is a great responsibility that I respect and uphold to the best of my ability. Thank you!
