Hi!! My name is Sophia I’m 22 years old and currently in grad school to become a speech-language pathologist! I’ve always loved kids and have worked with kids in many different capacities for almost 10 years.
At 12 years old I helped my friend run a babysitting group where parents would drop their preschool aged kids off for a few hours a day while they ran errands. We ran activities/games and had a little snack time and we often had up to 10 kids at a time. At this age I also started assisting in the two year old classroom at church and continued this until this past year. We usually took care of around 14-16 toddlers between two adults and two younger assistants. More recently, at 19 I worked in a daycare at a summer camp where I planned and ran activities for up to 30 elementary aged children monday-friday for 5 hours a day. And this last summer I worked at the same camp as a counselor for 6-8th graders. I also have babysat intermittently for children ages 1-13 but never a consistent nannying job due to my school schedule.
I also have experience working with children through my schooling to become a speech therapist. I did an internship at an elementary school running speech sessions with children K-5th grade and also had clients at a preschool this past semester. I love working with kids of all ages!
