Middle School Prefect, The Birch Wathen Lenox School 2022-2023
Four juniors and I were selected to begin the first-ever middle school prefect program. Among other activities, we lead Peer Relations Prep lunches for the 6th and 7th graders where we discuss any difficulties the students have with each other and how to move forward. We also assist in teaching leadership, which is a class to prepare 8th graders for high school, and go into health classes where we share our personal experiences and offer guidance to students for the future. These topics include eating disorders, drugs and alcohol, and gender and consent. I believe theres great value in sharing my own experiences and providing advice, as younger students are often more open with their questions and respond better to hearing such advice from another student.

Tutor, Peer Tutoring Club, The Birch Wathen Lenox School 2022
Peer Tutoring is a club in which students in my high school can assist elementary/middle school students with their homework. In the fall, I worked with a 5th-grade student on basic math. I also met weekly with an 8th grader for her English class, helping her to understand Romeo and Juliet better and preparing her for her final.

Instructor, Club Confidence Girls Empowering Girls 2021
Club Confidence is a free enrichment program for young girls that offers workshops on topics like public speaking, creative writing, and essay writing. I was an instructor for the Friendship Circle workshop for two years. I met with girls from different public schools throughout New York City to help them manage challenges in their day-to-day relationships. We discuss how they feel about their relationships with friends, teachers, family, and themselves. Even though these meetings happen on Zoom, it is an intimate environment that allows the girls to build friendships with the other girls enrolled.
